OKLAHOMAMARKET REPORT OKLAHOMA DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE, FOOD, & FORESTRY For 24-hour statewide market information dial 1-405-621-5533, and press the report number below: #2 Grain #8 Apache Livestock #3 Livestock Summary #9 McAlester Livestock #4 Fed Cattle #10 OKC Livestock #5 Hogs and Sheep #11 El Reno Livestock #6 Hay Report #12 Video/Direct Livestock #13 Tulsa Livestock 2800 N. Lincoln Blvd., Oklahoma City, OK 73105 July 10, 2012 Vol. 60, No. 26 Mary Fallin, Governor Jim Reese, Commissioner Jamey Allen, Director Market Development Services This report along with archived reports, current market prices, and other available state reports are accessible online at: http://www.ag.ok.gov/mktdev-newshome.htm The drought continued to develop across the state under hot and dry conditions the past week. Over 61 percent of the state was in a moderate to extreme drought per the July 3rd Drought Monitor. Little to no rain fell in western and central Oklahoma, with a few isolated areas of heavier rainfall in eastern Oklahoma and the Panhandle: All crops suffered from the developing drought, though dryland crops fared worse with the lack of precipitation the past few weeks. Livestock conditions declined somewhat, as the heat took its toll on the animals, as well as the available pasture and stock ponds. Grasses were burning up and hay production was limited. Topsoil moisture conditions were rated mostly short to very short, with only six percent rated adequate. Subsoil moisture conditions were rated short to very short, with 14 percent rated adequate.--USDA. WOODWARD LIVESTOCK AUCTION (07/6/12) No Sale due to Holiday... .
