Strengthening relationships from the Heart & Soul Trying to remember why you got married? Have a good thing going, but want to take it to the next level? Or maybe you're thinking about getting married. Learn the skills to strengthen your relationship at the Oklahoma Marriage Initiative’s FREE Heart & Soul event June 5 and 6 at Oklahoma City’s Clarion Meridian Hotel and Convention Center. This event is tailored for couples in the African American community. “I want couples to leave the Heart & Soul Event knowing that even if they didn’t grow up in a home that gave them a good example of a healthy marriage, they can still develop the tools to become a healthy and happy family,” said Bob Davis, OMI community relations specialist.. “It is important that they know that the Oklahoma Marriage Initiative is here to help our community.” Participants will receive a full day of relationship education as well as music and a dance the night before. The weekend also will feature numerous testimonies from couples who have navigated through the good and bad and can celebrate love that has lasted up to half a century.
