Those receiving the awards were: Elton Brown, Caddo County; Albert Johnson, Comanche County; Scottie Simpson, Cotton County; Gary Don and Paulette Nicholas, Grady County; Rash Barrett, Jefferson County; Karen Nichols, McClain County; Mordell Trammell, Stephens County; and Wanda Evaige, Tillman County. ASCOG Employee of the Year: Tom Zigler, planner in community and economic development, was selected as employee of the year. CED Division Prepares to Expand Available Services: ASCOG is participating with the other councils of government in Oklahoma to purchase a software program that will significantly increase our ability to produce a variety of to-scale maps. Map applications to be available include mapping cemeteries, floodplains, school districts, bus routes, rural fire districts, emergency response areas, city limits, rural water districts, utility service provider districts, etc. Pricing is based on the number of hours required to produce the specific map(s) requested. If your community or county district has a need for any of these maps, please contact Cindy Olis at ASCOG. REAP Applications: 55 Rural Economic Action Plan applications were received totaling $2,394,888 in requested funds. With approximately $1M to allocate, the majority of these applications cannot be funded with the amount available. The average requested amount was $43,536 with requests ranging from $13,591 to $107,200. Building Plan Review and Inspections: CED staff continues to make progress toward obtaining a contractor to conduct building plan reviews and inspection services that will work with MyPermitNow.
