OKLAHOMAMARKET REPORT OKLAHOMA DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE, FOOD, & FORESTRY 2800 N. Lincoln Blvd., Oklahoma City, OK 73105 October 2, 2012 Vol. 60, No. 39 Mary Fallin, Governor Jim Reese, Commissioner Jamey Allen, Director Market Development Services This report along with archived reports, current market prices, and other available state reports are accessible online at: http://www.ag.ok.gov/mktdev-newshome.htm For 24-hour statewide market information dial 1-405-621-5533, and press the report number below: #2 Grain #8 Apache Livestock #3 Livestock Summary #9 McAlester Livestock #4 Fed Cattle #10 OKC Livestock #5 Hogs and Sheep #11 El Reno Livestock #6 Hay Report #12 Video/Direct Livestock #13 Tulsa Livestock Multiple rain events over the past week were welcomed during the fall planting season. Rain continued to fall throughout the week, with generous totals accumulated in the central part of the state. The state averaged 1.72 inches for the week, and all but the North Central and Northeast districts averaged over an inch of rain. Even with the rain from the last week, rainfall totals for the last month are below normal for all but the Panhandle and West Central districts. Overall the drought is still ongoing and significant rain is needed to overcome the dry conditions. Some run-off was received in central and south central Oklahoma, but many livestock ponds are still in desperate need of run-off. The rainfall received was very beneficial for the ongoing small grain and canola planting, and will encourage more planting in the coming weeks. USDA OK AG Statistics.
