This publication is a compilation of related reports issued by USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) in an effort to provide a complete source of statistics relevant to the pork industry. Though many of the statistics in this publication can be ac-cessed through our website on a monthly basis (www.nass.usda.gov/ Publications), this Oklahoma Field Office summary will be issued each quarter following the release of the USDA-NASS Quarterly Hogs and Pigs report. Wilbert Hundl, Jr., Director USDA-NASS Oklahoma Field Office USDA-NASS OKLAHOMA FIELD OFFICE Oklahoma’s June -August 2012 pig crop, at 1.89 million head, was up 3 percent from last year. Sows farrowed, at 190,000 head, were unchanged from the number farrowed during the previous quarter. Oklahoma’s hog inventory estimated at 2.31 million head, was up 2 per-cent from June 2012 but down 1 percent from September 2011. 1 Year relates to when quarter ends. 2 December preceding year. * Revised.
