Unemployment rates for many Oklahoma counties improved in
September
LeFlore County recorded Oklahoma’s highest county unemployment rate of 9.9 percent in September 2012.
Latimer County held the second highest rate, and McCurtain and Sequoyah counties tied for the third
highest county rate over the month. The state’s lowest county rate for September was reported in Dewey
County. Over the month, the unemployment rates for 55 of Oklahoma’s 77 counties dropped or remained the
same.
