This program funds water and wastewater "phased" projects that require more than one year to complete. Phase I of the program covers only engineering costs plus an appropriate amount of administration. Once the applicant receives their construction permit, the Oklahoma Department of Commerce will issue an award for construction and the second phase of the project will begin. Water-Wastewater Construction. This program is for applicants that are ready to begin project construction. Eligible applicants that provide documentation of final plans and specifications or a construction permit secured through the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (ODEQ) may apply under this category. CDBG funds may only be utilized for construction, inspection and administration costs. Engineering costs are prohibited. The national objective of the water-wastewater construction program is to provide benefit to low and moderate income persons. Maximum grant amount is $350,000. Please call ASCOG community and economic development staff soonest for assistance in completing these (or any other) grant applications. Trained Ombudsmen: Ms. Lola McCuiston and Ms. Linda Armstrong are now trained ombudsmen after taking the free 2-day ombudsman volunteer training offered by ASCOG. You can also be a trained ombudsman and become an advocate for long-term care residents’ rights, quality of care and quality of life. Contact Ruben Sotelo, ASCOG ombudsman supervisor. 2nd Annual Senior Day is Wednesday, April 3rd starting at 9 am at the Chisholm Trail Heritage Center, 1000 Chisholm Trail Parkway in Duncan.
