Press Release August 17, 2012 CITIES RECEIVE $139.4 MILLION COUNTY RETURNS TOTAL $29.8 MILLION The August distribution of sales tax collections by the Oklahoma Tax Commission primarily represents local tax receipts from June business. Companies that remit more than $2,500 monthly in sales tax receipts are required to file and pay electronically. The monies they reported this period represent sales from June 16 th to June 30 th and estimated sales from July 1 st to July 15 th. The disbursement of $128,606,231 in sales tax collections was returned to 509 cities and towns reflecting an increase of $7,551,761 from the $121,054,470 distributed to 508 cities and towns in August last year. The use tax disbursement of $10,756,041 was distributed between 373 cities and towns. In county returns, 77 counties shared in a $27,452,409 sales tax disbursement. The use tax disbursement of $2,353,278 was distributed between 72 counties. The following list includes new sales and use tax rates for cities, towns and counties and their effective dates.
