The appropriation for operations is a $58.2 million, or 5.8 percent, decrease from last year’s appropriation. OCCC Named to Presidential Honor Roll Oklahoma City Community College has once again been named to the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll, the highest federal recognition a college or university can receive for its commitment to volunteering, service-learning and civic engagement. UCO to Purchase Oklahoma Hardware Building in Bricktown for ACM@UCO Expansion UCO will purchase the Oklahoma Hardware Building, located in Oklahoma City’s Bricktown district, to allow its Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM@UCO) to further expand, accommodating increasing demand for the innovative music education program. iPad Study Released by Oklahoma State University Southwestern Oklahoma State University student Courtney Garcia of Altus (Navajo) was selected the grand prize winner at the recent 16th annual Research Day held at the Oklahoma State Capitol in Oklahoma City. Brandon Whitten Institute at ECU Helping in Fight Against Substance Abuse, Addictions The Brandon Whitten Institute for Addiction & Recovery officially opened at East Central University with a ribbon cutting May 27 by the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce. The institute works to educate ECU students, as well as community agencies, schools and individuals, about substance abuse and recovery issues.
