He was 66. Brisch served as the chief executive officer of the Oklahoma State System of Higher Education from 1987-2003. He led a state system comprised of 25 state colleges and universities, nine constituent agencies, two higher education centers and independent colleges and universities coordinated with the State System. He became chancellor emeritus Jan. 5, 2003, when he was succeeded by Dr. Paul G. Risser. Read more. Northeastern State will lead new statewide degree program for adults The Oklahoma Regents for Higher Education recently announced that Northeastern State University, Tahlequah, will serve as the lead institution for a new statewide accelerated degree program tailored for working adults. Read more. Youngest-ever donor gives to SWOSU Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford just got a donation from its youngest-ever donor. Weatherford six-year-old Cassidy Moses recently presented $1 to SWOSU President John Hays and SWOSU Foundation Director Jim Waites, because she wanted to “help kids go to school.” The whole story started a few weeks ago when Moses’ grandmother, Carol Moses, was babysitting Cassidy. Carol had a meeting at the university. Read more. Downtown College Consortium to help chamber combat state's 'brain drain' The Downtown College Consortium will partner with the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber to help implement the Chamber’s Greater Grads Program, a comprehensive strategy developed to address Oklahoma’s loss of college graduates to surrounding states.
