DRS is hosting an art show from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at DDD, 9801 North Kelley Ave, Oklahoma City, and artwork will be sold both in direct sales, a silent auction and in a live auction. For those unable to attend the event, there is an online option. Several items for sale can be viewed at artshow and purchases can be made by check or credit card. To purchase art, call 1-800-877- 9977, ext. 9342 or 405-419-9342. Items available to purchase from online viewing are numbered and are part of the silent auction. Grouped items will have multiple purchase opportunities. Remembering Awareness Day continued→ Tell Us What YOU Think Everyone needed to bring proper awareness People with Disabilities Awareness Day is just around the corner, and we need you to be there, helping your clients tell their story. Awareness Day is April 3 and is a chance for DRS employees to discuss with lawmakers what our mission is and assist our clients in telling their stories. Here are a few things you need to know: 1. Attending Awareness Day does not require you to use your leave time. It is an extension of your job since we are assisting our clients, networking with other disability organizations or helping to run the event. 2. Agency vehicles may be used to attend the event and remember to transport your clients to Awareness Day. 3. If you need lunch, BEP vendors have snack bars in the basement and on the fourth floor. Lunch is not provided. 4. Preregistration closes March 27. If you forget to pre-register, you can still attend the event and register when you get there. We need you at Awareness Day so please get you, co-workers and clients there. Finding Peace continued→ Tell Us What YOU Think Finding Peace Today’s world seems more chaotic and stressful than ever. Pathways continued→ Tell Us What YOU Think Career Pathways the new road to success DRS staff members are poised to lend their expertise to a new Duncan School District effort to prepare students to enter the workforce. Career Pathways is a workforce development program used to support students’ transitions from the classroom and into a career. This strategy has been adopted across the country to increase education, training and learning opportunities for America’s current and emerging workforce. The program uses an integrated collection of programs and services to develop students’ core academic, technical and employability skills; provide them with continuous education and training; and place them in high-demand, high-opportunity jobs.
