People with Disabilities
Awareness Day 2013
More than 700 people braved bone-chilling rain last week to take
part in this year’s People with Disabilities Awareness Day, filling the
state Capitol and taking their stories to their lawmakers.
A total of 701 people attended the event as well as 69 exhibitors.
Several lawmakers remarked to volunteers about how impressed
they were by the turnout. Students for the Oklahoma School for the
Deaf gave out business card holders they had made, thanking
lawmakers for their continued support of the school.
