Dr. Michael O’Brien encouraged agency employees to celebrate their success, but more importantly, encouraged them to prepare themselves to embrace finding ways to do their jobs better and improve services to clients. While 36 percent of people with disabilities have connections to work, he said there are still 64- percent who do not, leaving the agency with a tremendous challenge ahead. Where’s DRS? PARIS!!!! Visual Services Administrator resigns Dr. Michael Jones, Visual Services division administrator, resigned his position April 5. Paul Adams will serve in that position until a replacement can be named. PWDAD 2013 continued→ Tell Us What YOU Think People with Disabilities Awareness Day 2013 THANK YOU! More than 700 people braved bone-chilling rain last week to take part in this year’s People with Disabilities Awareness Day, filling the state Capitol and taking their stories to their lawmakers. A total of 701 people attended the event as well as 69 exhibitors. Several lawmakers remarked to volunteers about how impressed they were by the turnout. Students for the Oklahoma School for the Deaf gave out business card holders they had made, thanking lawmakers for their continued support of the school.
