Published by the Tulsa Port of Catoosa, head of navigation for the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System Port Central 5350 Cimarron Road Catoosa, Oklahoma 74015 http://www.tulsaport.com Fall, 2011 Port Tenant NuStar Garners Distinguished OSHA Safety Award Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) officials and NuStar executives and employees gathered on Thursday, October 6th at the Port Authority Conference Room to celebrate NuStar’s Port of Catoosa facility being awarded the title of “Star Worksite” in OSHA’s Voluntary Protection Program (VPP). VPP Star Worksite designation The Tulsa Port of Catoosa has particpated in the Journal of Commerce’s largest transportation exhibition - BreakBulk - for many years. But this year, the Port teamed up with all the major ports along the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System. Participating from Arkansas were the Port of Pine Bluff, the Port of Little Rock, and Five Rivers Distribution (which manages both the Port of Van Buren and the Port of Fort Smith). The Oklahoma Ports represented were the Port of Muskogee, Johnston’s Port 33, and the Tulsa Port of Catoosa. The theme was: “The Arkansas and Oklahoma Seacoast.” “It just makes sense to have everyone is OSHA’s highest honor to recognize the nation’s most effective industrial safety and health programs. NuStar has committed to ...Continued inside involved,” said Richard Grenville, Director of Logistics and Business Development at the Tulsa Port of Catoosa. “It’s very important for all the ports on the McClellan- Kerr system to work together, just as other waterways, such as the St. Lawrence Seaway ports, do in a concerted effort.” Lou Ann Nisbett, Chairman of the Arkansas Waterways Association, agreed. “What’s good for Tulsa is also good for Pine Bluff, and everyone in between,” Nisbett said. Nisbett, Grenville, and Jeff Yowell, Port Communications Manager, took turns working at the booth.
