While this provided exceptional forage and wheatgrowth, it also invited lots of insect activity for hay and wheat growers to deal with. March was also marked by exceptionallygood demand for grazing cattle but this appeared to come to a halt at the first sale of April in Oklahoma City where most grassaccounts were reported full and demand let off dramatically. Fed cattle trade also struggled this week with prices at least 1.00lower in moderate trade. More rain fell across parts of the state at the close and this will continue to aid forage production.
