Nationally, feedlots reported two percent more cattle on feed than last year and placements of cattle on feed in May increased 15% from last year. In Oklahoma the number of cattle on feed was down 10 % from last year but 8 percent above the previous month. The news helped drive up grain futures sharply higher on Monday and cattle futures responded by falling sharply.
